Stephanie K. Kitamura O. D.

Dr. Kitamura Stephanie Kitamura OD joined us in 2001 to support our practice in the rapidly growing and increasingly complex field of contact lens design and fitting. She began her career at the prestigious New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA and completed her internship at the New England Eye Institute.

Her internship was broad-based and brought valuable experience; at the Veterans Administration Center in Lowell, MA she gained clinical experience managing primary eye care and low vision needs for a large veteran population. This was followed with service to the Perkins School for the Blind and the Cotting School for Handicapped Children where she treated patients with an emphasis on binocular vision, strabismus, amblyopia and learning disabilities for patients with multiple handicaps.

Dr. Kitamura's valuable expertise in a large variety of soft contact lenses and RGP fittings made her a perfect addition the Northwest Vision Institute team. Over the years she has developed a strong practice of devoted, successful contact lens patients that have come to appreciate her attention to detail and determination to help her patients achieve the highest possible refraction while negotiating the often complex world of technological choices relating to contact lenses. Dr. Kitamura maintains a fully stocked inventory of the latest and most technologically advanced lenses available in the industry today.

Her practice has expanded to include full service, comprehensive vision examinations, medical management and co-management of glaucoma, anterior segment anomalies and post operative follow up care for our refractive surgery patients. Our keratoconus patients benefit from both her vast experience and state of the art diagnostic equipment available at Northwest Vision Institute to help achieve the successes we are so well known for. She is a highly valued member of our professional team and we welcome the opportunity to have you meet her.
